Mary Jollett - Doll Making

Mary Jollett has been a soft sculpture doll artist for more than a decade, making more than 200 dolls. She enjoys working in cloth with needle-sculpted faces and in Paper-Clay and Sculpey modeling compounds. Best known for her mermaids, she creates tree top angels, clowns, fortunetellers, patriotic dolls, elves and caricatures. You can find her dolls in the Visual Art Center Gift Shop and in Creations in Fishermen’s Village. Mary has won seven awards, is a member of the Visual Art Center, and of the South West Florida Fine Craft Guild.

CREATIVE DOLL ARTISTRYCLOTH (Not in Session)

An introduction to creative doll artistry and skill development in all cloth creation. You will learn the skills needed to design and create 3 dimensional figures; practice needle and thread fabric sculpting techniques for face, ears, and hands; and basic techniques for dolls up to 24”.  

CREATIVE DOLL ARTISTRY: POLYMER & PAPER CLAY (Not in Session)

Create an original figure with polymer and paper clay. This course is for students with some experience in sculpting faces and hands in any media.  Techniques include additive sculpting using paper clay and/or polymer clay, finishes, simple joints, costuming, and more.
